Day 4 without my Razr
I thought I would never survive this- but here I am happily blogging and using the calendar on my PC rather than cellphone.
I am quite (pleasantly) surprised that i really don't miss it as much as I thought I would.
But I hope i found it soon- though my hopes are diminishing every day
Sigh - time to call customer service and request a SIM.

This morning's mail delivered a bad news- Dr
Kaul - my professor in school (
Jammu University, India) has died.
He was someone - I rarely thought of ever since I left the university
But now as I go back to memory lanes- its surprisingly so easy to find him.
He was a good man- simple and down to earth.
Sincere to his work - always willing to work with the - unwilling.
Dr.
Kaul had a good career- having worked in the university for years and also at
Cern labs in Switzerland
He led a good life- and his family must be awfully proud of him.
Today as I carve my future in the corporate world- I am humbled by the thought that I am here doing what I am doing because of the likes of Dr
Kaul who choose academics over and beyond the wealth and glamour of writing commercial software.

Elephants in the zoo
My son loves animals- a regular 4 yr old...
one of the many animal figure he has- is of an elephant
It shows a baby elephant- in purple shade- standing on its hind legs - with the back straight- just like a man would
The front legs - appear to be arms.
I wonder... what would an elephant think if it saw something like this? (of course a similar figure magnified 1000 times over...)
what would go in his mind ?
Would he laugh?be scared?Amused?Curious?upset?immitate?
I would be surprised if no scientific experiment has happened on this so far.
Racism in UK ?
Anyone who has concluded that UK is racist based on what happened in Big Brother is mistaken and has formed her\his opinion without giving any thought process
- If UK was racist- the country would have lined up with Jade and not Shilpa
- Shilpa would have been evicted and not Jade
- Jade wouldn't be facing an almost extinction of her career - which has made her so desperate as to go to India as last ditched effort to save her plunging career
Finally - though not to condone Jade's acts- this is what the reality shows are all about
embarrass,mock, humiliate others and the truth of the matter is it panders to our baser instincts.

And here comes the winters...
Yesterday I
couldn't open my 99 Corolla and this morning
couldn't shut the door
When
Gopi took the car to the shop - she was told- this is probably because of
temperature drop and should get OK in summers- yeah another few months to go...
So here is the plan- for the next few months Gopi is going to drive the Corolla (she can get through the back door- and squeeze into the front door)
And I will manage with the Camry
